Discipline
You need to show discipline when you plan to take shots at moving up. You need to make a plan and stick to it. If your plan is that you are going to take a shot when you are two buy ins short and then move back down if you lose two buy ins then stick to it. There is no shame in moving back down. Be realistic with yourself about your skill. You never want to play against players who are stronger than you.
