Tips on Multi-Tabling Without Lowering your Win Rate

in Making a Living Playing Poker,Rakeback Articles

Playing poker online is unlike any other type of poker. It is much different than playing in a live game. For many however, playing poker online is much more profitable. Besides the ability to get rakeback one big reason why is because you have the ability to play at many tables at the same time. Imagine if you could sit at 20 different live games at once? Seems silly, but you could make a lot more money right? Well, that is exactly what you can do when you play poker on the Internet. You can sit at 20 tables at once if you want. That really makes your ability to make a good profit skyrocket. The problem is that many people cannot handle multiple tables at the same time. So how can you make sure that your not lowering your win rate while multi-tabling?

Avoid Distractions

The most important thing you can do while playing poker online (especially multi-tabling) is to focus on one thing and one thing only. That is your poker games. Just one little screw up can mess up your whole session. If you are distracted, then there is a very good chance of making that little screw up. If you are careful, then you can avoid making mistakes. However, if you are doing a bunch of different things at once while playing poker online then you are likely to mess it all up.

When you are playing poker online there are obviously a lot of distractions. With the click of your mouse you can be surfing the web, opening a movie of some sort, chatting with friends, working on a project or anything else in the world. Not only that, but there are probably a handful of distractions outside of your computer such as the television or your kids. If you are serious about winning at online poker or making a living playing poker and you are multi-tabling, then you need to cut out all of the distractions. Close your browser and all of your other programs. Turn your TV off and sit alone in a room where you will not be distracted.

Do not be Afraid to Fold

Many players always think that their opponents are bluffing. They also think that their marginal hands are often good. Do not let this be you. While it may be true many times, there is not a point in taking chances like that. Doing so is a good way to lower your win rate very quickly. Do not be afraid to fold your cards. Play only good hands, and play the odds. If you can get your money in while you are a favorite, then you are going go win over the long run. If you think about it, playing at 10 tables in one session is almost like playing 10 sessions. You should be able to profit a lot more money.

The main point here is to avoid distractions and stay focused. Making good folds and staying focused will do you a lot of good. Remember, just one bad call or screw up and you could ruin that entire session. The goal is to limit your mistakes and maximize your opponents mistakes. When multi-tabling, you have a lot of opponents to beat out.
